It is with some pride and great pleasure that we look back on a great 6th edition of the EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM (EDF). Once again, this event has confirmed its reputation as Europe’s most important expert conference for UAS and cemented it at the absolute top level. Whether experts from EASA, the drone industry or from politics and business, we were able to look into many satisfied faces in a room filled to capacity. The participants gained first-hand insights into the current planning of Europe’s aviation authorities and all together shaped the future of drones in Europe directly and unfiltered. Especially the new Town Hall debate format proved its worth at its premiere and will be a fixed part of the conference from now on.
What we will change are time and location of the event. Messe Düsseldorf, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and UAV DACH signed a cooperation agreement at the EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM. The two industry associations will become partners of the new XPONENTIAL Europe trade fair, which will be held annually in Duesseldorf from 2025 as the European industry event for unmanned and autonomous systems and robotics. “The combination of the established EDF with the new XPONENTIAL Europe holds incredible potential. This will create a comprehensive, strong industry meeting place that covers all the needs of the sector: presentation of innovations, contact with customers, exchange between industry, science and politics as well as knowledge transfer. Information and networking are not only crucial for the future of the drone economy, they are also fundamental cornerstones of our association’s activities,” says Dr. Wissel, CEO of UAV DACH.
