The EU aviation safety agency (EASA) hasn’t had a single opportunity to meet the representatives of the national authorities in person this year. The restriction prohibited inviting anyone to EASA headquarters. Video conferencing was the choice as an alternative but as everybody knows, from time to time, personal meetings are important. Especially when it comes to sensitive topics or when a decision has to be weighed up around different points of view.
EDF2021 – the first opportunity to meet
By joining the EUROPEAN DRONE FORUM, a unique opportunity has opened up. EASA is now inviting the national authorities to a face-to-face meeting and allowing them to share the experiences of the states with each other and with the industry. Many UAS experts will not be denied this opportunity. Authorities from Hungary, Austria, Norway, Italy, Greece, Germany, and France have already confirmed their participation. Others will join in the next few days.
The program will reflect this commitment of the authorities and offer experiences as well as outlooks on the rule for the professional use of unmanned aerial systems in the first half of the day.
